Currently, the drug is becoming popular all over the world, with previous research indicating that this drug would be able to treat depression and anxiety by Ayahuasca retreats Peru. But what exactly is it? And how the plant was able to work more intense than LSD?
In fact, even though most people think that ayahuasca is a single plant, in fact, it is a combination of the two plants, the leaves of Psychotria Viridis and Banisteriopsis caapi vines. They have the power of hallucinogens, but the leaves are known to contain DMT, a substance that has a similar structure to the neurotransmitter serotonin, which is also found in magic mushrooms, which have the potential to cure depression.
Enzymes in our digestive normally able to not enable DMT so it will not affect us. However, vines contained in ayahuasca blocking these enzymes to work properly and allow the DMT to enter the blood system. Within half an hour after eating the plant, it will start giving drink hallucinogenic effects, and the effect works for six hours.
But the interesting part of the hallucinations, the effect produced does not work like LSD. People with ayahuasca as a whole realize that they are experiencing hallucinations. Not hear much noise, they would only hear the voice of rage, and will be more receptive state and their current situation. Compared sense of drift, they feel more of past experiences, emotions, and find peace in the soul.
So what is really happening to our brains when consuming ayahuasca which produces strange effects and unique? There are areas in our brain, which when active in excess will be connected to depression, anxiety, and social phobia. The same effect as the result of meditation will arise. There is ample evidence also shows that DMT is also able to maintain long-term memory and grow new brain cells, and have the possibility to turn off cancer in the future. It does not mean that ayahuasca is able to treat cancer. However, scientists say, there is a possibility that the drug could be used for the fight against cancer. But like other addictive drugs, ayahuasca have a bad side, including the effects of vomiting.
